Celebrating the UK – India Special Relationship
Nominations are open for The Indian Awards 2017, a new initiative to recognise those who keep the UK-India special relationship alive and prosperous.
The awards are open to UK-based individuals and organisations who continue to nurture and advance the commercial and cultural bonds between the two nations. Award categories include big business, entrepreneurs, SMEs, arts and culture.
Presented by the India Business Group, the invitation-only awards ceremony will take place on 22 June at the Houses of Parliament. The gala dinner will feature business leaders, opinion formers, finance chiefs and prominent members of the Indian community.
The event is supported by Virendra Sharma MP, Chairman of the Indo-British All Party Parliamentary Group, Lord Rana The Baron of Malone, and Lord Patel of Bradford OBE, Chairman of the India Business Group.
The special dinner will also provide a timely opportunity to mark the 70th anniversary of the celebration of India’s independence, as well as an opportunity to recognise the designated UK/India Year of Culture, in 2017.
Virendra Sharma MP said, “The Indian Awards 2017 is an important UK wide initiative for recognising entrepreneurs, inspirational people and organisations that have championed international cooperation between the UK and India.”
Lord Patel of Bradford said, “This inaugural awards ceremony is a timely reminder about the mutually beneficial, evolving and special relationship between our two great nations”.
